The rise of online market places such as Amazon and eBay have allowed consumers to compare hundreds of products and find the best bargains on their electrical goods and appliances. 

But for all the cost saving benefits, it’s easy to end up purchasing fake electrical goods which can hazardous, potentially causing risk of fires or personal injury. 

So how can you spot them?

  • Prices are well below the quoted retail price

  • Low quality packaging or the absence of branding/logos

  • Carefully read the product description

If you think you have purchased fake goods online, you can notify the Trading Standards which investigates and prosecutes people who sell counterfeit consumer goods.
