My washing machine is not filling up with water.
If your washing machine is not filling up with water, here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue.
-
Check that the water is turned on
Check that the water in the house is running and that the tap(s) supplying the washing machine is turned on.
-
Check the water inlet hose is not kinked or blocked
Turn off your washing machine and disconnect it from the electrical supply
Disconnect both ends of the inlet water hose. Have a bucket ready to catch any water that comes out. After you have disconnected the hose, do a quick test to check water is coming through the household water supply to the machine.
If there is a filter on the inside of either end of the inlet hose, check that it is clear of debris. The filter may also be inside the inlet on the washing machine.
Check that the hose is not blocked.
Check for any kinks in the hose that may restrict water flow.
Reconnect water hose to your machine & to the household water supply. Make sure again that the hose is not kinked.
Turn the machine back on.
-
Check the household water pressure
It may be useful to check that the water pressure in your household water system has not dropped. The optimal pressure is 10l per minute (enough to fill a large bucket in a minute or two).
